Short Biography

My name is Greg Gullberg and I am a journalist.  Working as a newsman for more than four years has given me a multitude of experience across a spectrum of media including television, internet, print and radio.

My years as a reporter/producer/photographer with my university’s newscast taught me a great deal about news fundamentals.  My CNN internship provided me with unrivaled opportunity including appointing me a sort of short-notice photographer, shooting video for national television.  My role as a multimedia news & sports reporter for both Afghan 101 & UWire.com have allowed the time and independence to develop my skills in long-form enterprise reporting while building relationships with ABCNews & ESPN.

News media are changing fast and even the brightest minds in the business could not possibly predict where they will go next.  But some things will never change, including the need for strong writing, critical thinking and sheer passion for public service.  These are traits I see as goals in every story I shoot and write.

Those of us who can call ourselves journalists are a lucky few.  I can think of no higher calling than to be a part of the priesthood of journalists whose responsibility it is to protect our democracy by informing our public.  The world is in a state of change, one that will rock the new world order, we will need all the best guidance ushering in the young century; I believe the journalism students of today will become those shepherds.
